The Tale of the Tail: Inspiration Behind the Logo

The Tale of the Tail: Inspiration Behind the Logo

The journey of creating Green Jeani’s logo was inspired by a vintage brooch crafted in Siam, now known as Thailand, which holds a story as powerful as it is beautiful.
This exquisite piece, adorned with intricate details, depicts two deities: Mekhala, and Ramasura.
Their tale, rooted in Thai folklore, has always captivated me with its mysticism and symbolism, and has since become the foundation of Green Jeani’s visual identity.

Mekhala is revered as the Goddess of Lightning, embodying both beauty and strength. Her gemstone, often held high in her hand, symbolizes purity, protection, and divine power.
Mekhala’s story is intertwined with that of the God of Thunder, Ramasura.
According to legend, Ramasura is captivated by Mekhala’s gemstone and desires it for himself. In pursuit, he throws his mighty axe, creating thunderous sounds as it crashes through the sky.
Mekhala, quick and clever, raises her magical gemstone, unleashing flashes of lightning that blind Ramasura and keep him at bay.

This mythical chase between lightning and thunder is said to explain the natural phenomenon of thunderstorms, where lightning and thunder are eternally bound in a dance across the heavens.

Mekhala’s gemstone is not only a source of light but also a symbol of wisdom and resilience. It’s a reminder of the power that lies within us to illuminate our paths, even in the face of challenges.

What struck me most was the goddess herself. In this piece, she has a tail, some see that of a mermaid, I see dragon energy. strong, graceful, and connected to nature.

This is exactly the energy I wanted for Green Jeani.

Jeani, with her old-world charm, echoes the balance of light and strength, wisdom and resilience.
She is a tribute to vintage charm, to the mystery and magic of myth, to the grounded power of nature and the Inner Guru.
Every time you see Her, know that she carries a piece of history and a story of strength - qualities that inspire me and, hopefully, resonate with you too.

Love, X
